<p>Elise resides in Cape May County, NJ and is formerly from Chester Springs, PA. In the early 2000’s, she was the owner of a successful mural company and is now a full-time artist showing her work on both coasts. For the last five years she has been focused on painting various Women in the Arts. Initially inspired by the vintage glamour of the 1920's and then moving into succeeding decades, she created sepia-toned portraits juxtaposed against colorful wallpapered backgrounds. This series has since evolved to adorning her subjects with elaborate "crowns" and creatures, implementing her love of nature. "Throughout the history of art there has been a glaring absence of female artists. Even today, women remain dramatically underrepresented in the art world. My objective is to raise awareness of women in all of the arts and to celebrate their lives and achievements. This process has been a very personal journey of discovery for me. In researching the challenges that have shaped these women, I have found that there is a little bit of each of their stories that resonates with me as a female artist. Equally, there is a little part of myself that resides in each painting."</p>
