Rachel Altschuler, a native of Chester County, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Art Studio and a Master’s degree in Art Education at Coastal Carolina University. After five years of teaching art at Villa Maria Academy High School, she left to pursue her career as a full time artist.
Rachel’s work is a reflection of what inspires her most - her love of nature. Her attention to detail, bold use of color, and purposeful brushstrokes are what make these paintings come to life. Her work has been featured at several galleries and businesses throughout the Philadelphia area and as far west as Colorado. One of her favorite places to find new inspiration is the Stroud Preserve in West Chester, a 574 acre protected wildlife habitat and “important bird area” as designated by the National Audubon Society.
