Bio
Rosemary is a ceramic artist living in Harleysville, Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of West Chester University, with a BFA in Studio Arts and a focus in ceramics and a BA in Psychology. She finds clay as a fundamentally malleable and tactile material, satisfying in it's ability to take on may different forms. Her intent is to leave the marks of pinching and building for the viewer to see. To Rosemary, the process is an important aspect of the work. To start the process, she stains the clay and builds using a coil pinch method. These blooming forms were originally influenced by the floral structures found in nineteenth century botanical journals, which continues to be a source of inspiration.
