Bio

A resident of Lyndell, PA, Joe began painting at the age of 58. A self-described “outsider”, he has never attended an art class or lesson but discovered his skill in and enjoyment of painting once he started. He works in both watercolor and oil, and in addition has created a number of floorcloths (painted canvas floor coverings). Joe’s work tends to be detailed and realistic, portraying primarily natural outdoor scenes. Many of his paintings include water, as the interaction of water and the shore particularly fascinate him. Joe is a member of numerous art associations and has exhibited and won awards at a number of exhibitions during the past several years. He achieved signature status in both the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and Philadelphia Water Color Society in 2016.
