A Chester County native, John is a self-taught artist, "born with a crayon in his hand', although he was not always a painter. Initially, he gravitated toward science, earning a BS degree in Biology. After ten years in the pharmaceutical industry as a biochemist, he decided to make a dramatic career change and started a mural business. This eventually led to John's creating smaller works on canvas. When painting, he is influenced by a range of artists from early 20th century American impressionists to contemporary plein air artists as he creates his contemporary "naturescapes" in oil. John has exhibited his work at the numerous art shows and festivals along the East Coast from Virginia to Connecticut.
